Video: Punahou's legacy of success
Honolulu school has won a whopping 505 state titles.
When it comes to winning championships, Punahou (Honolulu) is the clear champion.
The alma mater of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, Punahou has won 505 state titles, based on information from the school's website. A whopping 52 state crowns have come in girls swimming. The Buff 'N Blue have won over 30 titles in seven other sports.
Using state association websites or individual school sites, MaxPreps has determined the schools that have won the most state championships in each state. Non-athletic competitions (drama, speech, etc.) were not included in the calculations. Mythical state titles and championship won in club sports also were not included. Only championships claimed in state association playoffs were counted.
Not every state has a complete history of past champions on their website. As a result, MaxPreps has no results for Mississippi or Massachusetts. Two states, California and New York, operate as a federation, not a state association, and thus have not held state championships in every sport that is available at the section or association level.
Schools are listed with the total number of state championships, the sport with the most state titles and any other sport with at least 10 state championships. To correct an error or provide feedback, please email Kevin Askeland at kevinaskeland65@gmail.com.

Christ the King holds 19 Federation championships in girls basketball (15) and boys basketball (4) combined.
