DeSoto is the new No. 1 in MaxPreps Texas Top 25.
A convincing 47-20 road victory over rival Cedar Hill in a District 7-5A opener elevated the Eagles (4-0) from last week's No. 2 position.
Former No. 1 Allen (4-0) struggled to put away Hebron, finally pulling away, 36-17. Allen drops to No. 2 this week.
Katy (4-0) remained a solid third after a 42-0 win over Mayde Creek (Houston). The Tigers have not allowed a touchdown in three of their wins.
Stormy weather for parts of Texas caused postponement of some Week 3 games and the cancellation of others.
Coppell, No. 4 in this week's Texas Top 25, and No. 5 Lamar (Houston) had their games cancelled and are among those teams now playing a shortened nine-game regular season.
Here's the MaxPreps Texas Top 25 following Week 3 games.
