Iowa is home to cornfields, the Field of Dreams and, this year, one of the nation's top receivers.
Allen Lazard from
Urbandale (Iowa) has proven on the high school field and on camps that he is one of the top wide receivers in the country.
247Sports ranks Lazard as the
nation's No. 64 recruit overall, the No. 6 receiver in the country and the No. 1 recruit from the state of Iowa.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound senior is committed to Iowa State, where he plans to join his older brother Anthony who plays linebacker for the Cyclones.
Lazard first emerged as a 10th-grader, when he earned MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors following a season in which he a hauled in eight interceptions.

He cracked the list as a defensive back, hinting at the versatility that would be on display in years to come.
Now a senior, Lazard has Urbandale sitting at 5-2 heading into Friday's matchup with Indianola.
It will be a busy weekend for Lazard.
On Saturday, he plans to make a visit to South Bend to take in Notre Dame's game against USC.
He committed to Iowa State in December after his junior season and seems solid in his commitment. While Notre Dame, Stanford and others would love to land Lazard, he insists he's merely going through the recruiting experience.
"You only get to go through the recruiting process once, and since I committed early and got the offers later, I felt like I owed it to myself to check out other places and get to experience things a lot of players don't get to experience," Lazard
recently told 247Sports.
"Taking a recruiting visit is something a lot of people can't say and I couldn't really pass it up."
