As detailed by Roy Lang III of The Times, the 54-year-old country music legend held a free private football camp for about 100 kids Saturday at Airline High School in Bossier City, La.
Brooks was also involved a camp in San Antonio earlier this summer while in town for a run of four concerts at the AT&T Center.
"The kids bring their own energy, so you feel like a kid again," Brooks told Lang of his experience at the camp.
Brooks was reportedly a pretty decent high school football player back at
Yukon in his home state of Oklahoma. He was a member of the Oklahoma State track and field team and has also tried his hand at baseball with the San Diego Padres and New York Mets.
