One of the most impressive soccer goals of the year comes from the high school level, courtesy of
Oakdale (Ijamsville, Md.) junior
Brian Flatter.
In the Class 2A final last Saturday with Oakdale leading 2-1 over Easton, Flatter kicked a high-arcing shot from 40 yards out that just continued to sail.
It eventually dropped right over the goalie's head, right into the corner of the goal for an amazing score.
It gave Oakdale an insurance goal, and the team went on to win 3-1.
"I have seen some funky goals, and I have never seen anything like than in my life," Oakdale coach Dan Mulcahy
told the Frederick News Post after the game.
