
Archbishop Mitty continues to rise, and now the Monarchs find themselves in the No. 3 spot in the rankings.

The top two teams in the Maxpreps Xcellent Softball Rankings remained the same, but this week's Top 10 looks very different than a week ago as three top teams suffered defeats.
While 10-0 Northern (Owings, Md.) was extending its winning streak to 63 games, John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) saw its 59-game winning streak come to an end, 7-6. As a result, Northern remained No. 1, but Curtis fell from No. 3 to No. 8.
Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.) held on to No. 2 with a pair of shutout wins, including 3-0 over previously unbeaten Stone Bridge (Ashburn, Va.). O'Connell is 11-0 and has 10 shutouts.
Mark your calendars for April 27 when Northern and Bishop O'Connell meet.
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) continues its climb in the top 25, moving from No. 6 to No. 3 as it stretched its win streak to 32 games over two seasons. Mitty started the season unranked.
Coronado (Lubbock, Texas) moved into No. 4 as it captured its 18th-straight conference title.
Mission Viejo (Calif.) ran its win streak to 15 with a pair of wins and rounded out the top five.
New to the Top 25 this week are Yorba Linda (Calif.) and Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.). Yorba Linda has outscored its opponents 135-13 and recorded a dozen shutouts. The Mustangs' only loss is to 18-5 Pacifica (Garden Grove, Calif.). The two teams meet again on Tuesday.
Central, a seven-time state champion, has won 16 in a row since losing 5-4, and has scored 185 runs while allowing 21.

Jess Cummings keeps piling up impressive numbers as Northern's win streak reaches 63 with 10-0 win over North Point in which Cummings fanned 13. In a 5-0 win over Mount DeSales (Catonsville, Md.), Cummings struck out 13 and allowed only two hits and
Julie Keleti went three-for-four with a triple and scored twice. In 64 innings, Cummings has pitched 10 shutouts, allowed just seven base hits and has recorded 150 strikeouts.
Kassidy Cross leads the team with a .467 batting average. Northern plays Huntingtown (Md.) on Wednesday.
2. (2) Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), 11-0The Knights beat crosstown rival Washington Lee, 21-0 as
Jenna Spille,
Erin Sweeney and
Mary Burk homered. They also beat previously unbeaten Stone Bridge (Ashburn, Va.), 3-0, as
Tori Finucane struck out 11 and lowered her ERA to 0.11. They visit St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, Md.) on Wednesday.

4. (7) Coronado (Lubbock, Texas), 29-1Behind
Monique Garcia's no-hitter, Coronado clinched its 18th straight district title on Saturday with a 7-0 victory over Central (San Angelo, Texas). Garcia, who improved to 21-0, finished with 12 strikeouts and two walks.
Quinn Fortner had three hits in the win. The Mustangs host Lee (Midland, Texas) on Tuesday.
5. (8) Mission Viejo (Calif.), 19-1With a 7-4 win over Trabucco Hills (Mission Viejo) and a 12-1 victory over Laguna Hills (Calif.), MVHS extended its win streak to 15. The Red and Gold host Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) on Tuesday.
6. (9) Amador Valley (Pleasanton, Calif.), 13-1In recording her 10th shutout of the season in a 5-0 win over Monte Vista (Danville, Calif.),
Johanna Grauer struck out 14. The Dons have allowed just six runs while scoring 66. They visit California (San Ramon) on Tuesday.
7. (10) Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas), 26-1Two more shutouts for the top 4A team in Texas – a 17-0 win over Porter and 10-0 over Dayton (Texas). The Eagles, who lost 1-0 on March 2, have 21 shutouts this season. Host Summer Creek (Houston) on Tuesday.
8. (3) Curtis (River Ridge, La.), 28-1Curtis' win streak reached 59 straight before losing 7-6 to 22-6 Vanderbilt Catholic (Houma, La.) on the final day of the regular season. Curtis rebounded impressively by beating Louise McGehee 20-0 on Saturday. John Curtis opens state tournament play Tuesday as the top seed.
9. (15) El Diamante (Visalia, Calif.) 21-1-1The Miners haven't lost in 17 games. Sophomore
Rylee Pierce has 13 home runs and 42 RBIs and pitcher
Sierra Hyland is unbeaten in 17 games with a 1.05 ERA. The Miners visit Golden West (Visalia) on Wednesday.
10. (11) Lake City (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho), 8-0 The T-Wolves beat Lewiston (Idaho) twice, 15-2 and 12-3, as
Vanessa Shippy and
JaeCie Wilson combined for 11 hits. They followed that with a 12-2 win over Lakeland (Idaho). They face once-beaten Coeur d'Alene (Idaho) on Tuesday. CDA is the only team to beat Lake City in the last two years, and it came in the 2012 state finals.
11. (14) Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 8-0The Eagles have have allowed four runs, while scoring 54 in eight outings. Last week's wins were 1-0 over High Point (Sussex, N.J.), 5-2 over Livingston (N.J.) and 13-1 over Toms River East (N.J.). They host Passaic (N.J.) on Tuesday.
12. (13) North Medford (Ore.), 13-1The Black Tornado beat Roseburg (Ore.), 6-1, as
Maryssa Becker hit her seventh home run in 14 games and also struck out 17. They followed that with a 14-0 rout of Eagle Point (Ore.). The Black Tornado hosts rival South Medford on Tuesday.

13. (16) Pearland (Texas), 30-2The Oilers routed South Houston 16-1, then edged Memorial (Pasadena , Texas), 1-0 as
Samantha Show pitched a one-hitter and struck out 16.
Kristen Cuyos drove in the game's lone run in the sixth inning. Show is 24-1 on the season with a 0.27 ERA. The Oilers have a showdown with Manvel (Texas) on Tuesday. Both are 9-1 in District and Manvel is one of two teams to beat Pearland this season.
14. (18) Woodinville (Wash.), 11-1With most recent wins over Bothell (Wash.) and Garfield (Seattle), the Lady Falcons have outscored their opponents 113-15. Against Garfield,
Kathryn Hatlen went four-for-four with a home run, four RBIs and pitched a two-hitter. The Falcons play at Redmond on Tuesday.
15. (24) Hagerty (Oviedo, Fla.), 24-1The Huskies extended their winning streak to 17 with a 9-2 win over Winter Springs (17-8). They also beat area rivals Lake Howell (20-5) and Lake Brantley (17-8). The Huskies open District tournament play on Tuesday.
16. (21) Niceville (Fla.), 23-1Niceville extended its win streak to 17 with a win over Tate (Cantonmet, Fla.) and sweep of Alabama power Dothan, 3-0 and 5-3. District play begins Tuesday.

Paige Von Sprecken threw her 11th shutout of the season in a win over Cypress and handled Kennedy (La Palma), 7-3. Yorba Linda plays 17-5 Pacifica (Garden Grove, Calif.) on Tuesday. YL's only loss this season was to Pacifica in the title game of the Michelle Carew tournament.
18. (22) Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, Ariz.), 26-1 With wins over Goldwater 14-1 and 9-3, and 16-0 over Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.), the Mustangs run their win streak to 20. Sunrise Mountain hosts Cactus (Glendale, Ariz.) on Tuesday.
19. (NR) Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.), 18-1The Cougars recorded three shutout wins last week and scored 36 runs. They host Central Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) on Wednesday.
20. (20) Cy-Fair (Cypress, Texas), 28-2In a 13-3 win over Jersey Village (Houston),
Alysa Dalton drove in five.
Mariah Gibson picked up her 23rd win and struck out 12 in a 3-0 win over Lakes (Cypress, Texas). They host Ridge (Cypress, Texas) on Tuesday.
21. (4) Logan (Union City, Calif.), 12-1Logan won four of five games in the Reed/Reno Easter Tournament. The Colts beat Spanish Springs (Sparks, Nev.), Galena (Reno, Nev.), Freedom (Oakley, Calif.), and North Valleys (Reno, Nev.), but lost 10-8 to 6-7 Newark Memorial (Newark, Calif.). Newark won two of five games in Reno. Logan hosts Washington (Fremont) on Tuesday.
22. (25) Connell (Wash.), 9-0In a pair of 20-0 wins over Wahluke (Wash.),
Ashley Thompson threw two no-hitters, one a perfect game, the other with only one walk. She struck out 14 in one game and 15 in the other. Each was a run-rule, five-inning game. Thompson, who has signed with BYU, also had six RBIs and a home run in the twin bill. The Eagles visit Royal (Wash.) for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
23. (23) Mountain Ridge (Glendale, Ariz.), 25-2 Mountain Ridge beat O'Connor (Phoenix) 16-1 and Ironwood twice, 9-1 and 11-0, to extend its win streak to 14. Led by
Corrin Green's .540 batting average, the Lions are hitting .425. They visit Boulder Creek on Tuesday.
24. (12) Marina (Huntington Beach, Calif.), 18-2After its 4-0, one-hit loss to El Modena (Orange, Calif.), the Vikings beat Los Alamitos 2-1, Huntington Beach, 5-0, Peninsula (Rolling Hills, Calif.), 8-0, and Millikan (Long Beach, Calif.) 5-0. The Vikings host Edison on Tuesday.
25. (5) Jack Britt (Fayetteville, N.C.), 12-1Britt lost 5-4 to 10-7 Lumberton (N.C.) then rebounded to beat 11-3 South View (Hope Mills, N.C.) 3-2 by scoring in the bottom of the seventh. Cape Fear (Fayetteville, N.C.) visits Britt on Friday.
