One of the biggest tournaments of the high school girls basketball season tips off Wednesday in Arizona as seven teams in the MaxPreps Top 25 hit the desert for the Nike Tournament of Champions.
Top-ranked
Ontario Christian (Ontario, Calif.) and No. 2
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) are on opposite sides of the Vincent Cannizzaro Division bracket and would make for an epic California showdown Saturday for the title. The two are sure to meet Dec. 4 in Northern California but could the Nike TOC final be the first act in what could be a three-act play should they also meet for the Open Division state title?
The Knights and Monarchs are certainly not locks for the championship game as the field is loaded with ranked teams and star power.
Another star stepping on the Nike TOC stage is USC commit
Jazzy Davidson of No. 17
Clackamas (Ore.). The Cavaliers opened their season last week with a nail-biting 66-65 overtime win over Willamette (Eugene).

Ar'jayla Elder and No. 19 Lincoln (Dallas, Texas) are off to a 21-0 start this season with 11 of those wins coming by 20 points or more. (Photo: Robbie Rakestraw)
