The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 12.6 points, 6.0 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists across five games for Canada to earn tournament MVP honors.
The win marked Canada's first-ever gold medal at the FIBA U18 Men's
AmeriCup. Canada won its previous four games at the AmeriCup by an
average of 48.5 points per game en route to the title game.

Deng Ngor added 15 points in the win, including the game-tying 3-pointer with 1:27 remaining and game-winning dunk on the following possession.
Lyris Robinson of
CIA-Bella Vista (Phoenix, Ariz.), who recorded 10 points and four rebounds in the title game, was named to the tournament's All-Star Five team alongside Tyndale for Canada. Robinson averaged 14.0 points. 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in AmeriCup action.
Quentin Coleman of
Principia (St. Louis, Mo.) was the only American to be selected to the tournament's All-Star Five as he tallied eight points and 10 rebounds in the title game to finish with averages of 11.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per contest for the tournament.
The United States had captured gold at the event seven straight times dating back to 2010.
