MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: David Gabriel Georges rushes for 3 touchdowns in 21-7 win

No. 9 Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.) took care of Knoxville Catholic (Knoxville, Tenn.) 21-7 at Covenant Health Park on Friday. It was a defensive game but five-star David Gabriel Georges left his mark by scoring three rushing touchdowns and going for nearly 200 yards as the Red Raiders head to the postseason with a perfect 10-0 record.

The only head-to-head MaxPreps Top 25 matchup this week was a 36-35 win for No. 18 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) over No. 11 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) in Southern California.

Mater Dei trailed 35-21 late in the fourth before freshman Paytyn Guess threw two late touchdowns and a 2-point conversion to win by a point. Guess finished with three passing touchdowns, two of which went to Gavin Honore, and two scoring runs. Bosco quarterback Koa Malau'ulu also had three passing scores with a rushing touchdown.

No. 2 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) closed out Trinity League action with a 43-21 win at Orange Lutheran (Orange). The Eagles head into the playoffs undefeated at 10-0 under head coach Carson Palmer.

Grant Mosley dominated offensively for the Eagles with two rushing touchdowns and a scoring reception from quarterback Fletch Palmer. Santa Margarita added two touchdowns on defense and special teams as Jayden Jack found the end zone in the first half and Kaleb Mendez scored a touchdown in the second half.

The biggest game Saturday will be in Louisiana as No. 22 Edna Karr (New Orleans) faces St. Augustine (New Orleans) in a matchup of the top two teams in the state.

Both teams are 8-0 and Edna Karr has won 35 in a row dating back to the 2023 state playoffs. The Cougars beat St. Augustine 28-14 in last year's Division I Select state championship game.

In Indiana, No. 14 Brownsburg took down Zionsville 48-10 to open the Class 6A playoffs as it goes for a third straight state title. Running backs Parker Condon and Brady Lewis each ran for two touchdowns while quarterback Oscar Frye tossed one touchdown.

In Georgia, No. 12 Thomas County Central (Thomasville) won 26-7 against Coffee (Douglas) on Friday. The defending Class AAAAA state champs were led by rushing touchdowns from Jordan McNeil and quarterback Aidan McPherson. Defensively the Yellow Jackets were led by Tyson Johnson, who returned an interception for a touchdown.

Five MaxPreps Top 25 teams were in action on Thursday.

No. 20 Prattville (Ala.) overcame a 14-0 deficit to pull off a 20-17 win over Opelika. Bryson Francis connected on a 28-yard field as time expired to give the Lions their first undefeated regular since 2007.

No. 13 North Crowley (Fort Worth, Texas) scored at least 70 points for the third consecutive week with a 72-10 win over Mansfield. The Panthers are averaging 50.4 points per game as they head into their regular season finale next Thursday against Red Oak.

No. 19 Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, Pa.) continued its dominance with a 45-0 shutout win over Hempfield Area (Greensburg) to improve to 9-0. The Vikings have outscored their first nine opponents 445-71 and have won every game by at least 15 points.

No. 7 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) and No. 24 Centennial (Corona, Calif.) both cruised to victories. The Gaels beat Mater Academy East Las Vegas (Las Vegas) 50-7 to improve to 8-1 and the Huskies rolled to a 62-0 win over Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta) in their regular season finale.
