The full 2022 NFL schedule will be released Thursday, meaning fans can begin planning trips, letting significant others know when they're unavailable and dreaming that this might be "The Year."
While the NFL is not too far off in the future, neither is the high school football season. A mere 16 weeks out, the 2022 season is quickly approaching and got us looking at the biggest and best games on the schedule.
Between annual league matchups, non-league showdowns and independents taking on other heavyweights, we mapped out a week-by-week look at the game we'd like to attend throughout the fall.
Many of the games are interstate battles, highlighted by an Aug. 26 California-Texas showdown between St. John Bosco and Allen. The Braves head to the Lone Star State one season after fellow Southern California power Mater Dei traveled east to play Duncanville, beating the Panthers 45-3. The Eagles, who own five Texas state titles, hope to reclaim bragging rights against St. John Bosco, which ended No. 6 in the MaxPreps Top 25 and look to be among a handful of teams battling for the preseason No. 1 spot.
Another interstate battle is a chance at redemption for Bishop Gorman, which hosts Hamilton on Sept. 9. The Huskies stunned the Gaels last season, scoring three times in the final 65 seconds to win
25-24 in a nationally televised game.

St. John Bosco plays in one of the season's biggest games, heading to Texas to take on Allen on Aug. 26.
