A season-ending three-game winning streak and bid to the Sun Bowl have energized University of Notre Dame football recruiting.
For the second straight week, an outstanding senior from Texas power Coppell has pledged his allegiance to the Fighting Irish.
Cornerback
Bennett Okotcha (6-0, 175) made a switch Monday from the University of Wisconsin, according to the South Bend Tribune. Last week standout Coppell running back
Cam McDaniel chose Notre Dame.
McDaniel and Okotcha, a shut-down defender who runs 40 yards in 4.47 seconds, are close friends. He made his commitment even before visiting the Notre Dame campus.
The Irish also recently picked up a commitment from
Everett Golson, a senior quarterback who guided Myrtle Beach (S.C.) to the Class AAA state title. He previously had pledged to the University of North Carolina.
