The Oakland-Craig Knights will head out on the road to square off against the West Point-Beemer Cadets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Oakland-Craig over Archbishop Bergan in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Oakland-Craig walked away with a 56-45 win over Archbishop Bergan.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakland-Craig to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briar Ray, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ray continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sonya Guzinski was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, West Point-Beemer didn't have too much trouble with Madison on the road on Tuesday as they won 52-36. Given West Point-Beemer's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Madison is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Point-Beemer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allie Kaup, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Toelle, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Oakland-Craig's record now sits at 12-5. As for West Point-Beemer, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Oakland-Craig couldn't quite finish off West Point-Beemer in their previous matchup last Monday and fell 42-40. Can Oakland-Craig avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
