The San Pasqual Academy Dragons were the 44-23 winner over the Borrego Springs Rams when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. San Pasqual Academy took a hard 26-8 fall against Borrego Springs on Wednesday. San Pasqual Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Borrego Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melanie Urquidez, who scored 12 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Urquidez has scored all season. Abigail Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
San Pasqual Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 0-2. As for Borrego Springs, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Pasqual Academy will take on Warner at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Borrego Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Shores at 4:00 p.m.
