12 must be Kearney's lucky number: they beat North Platte with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Bearcats came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 12-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Alexa Jacobsen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sadie Kovarik, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Kearney and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for North Platte, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Kearney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-5 victory against Lincoln Northeast on the 27th. As for North Platte, they have also already played their next game, a 7-3 win against Cozad on the 26th.
