It was a good run, but the St. Joseph Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They suffered a tough 60-35 loss at the hands of San Ramon Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Joseph has scored all season.
St. Joseph's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avary Cain, who scored 12 points along with two steals. That was a full 34.3% of St. Joseph's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annalyssa Cota, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for San Ramon Valley, the victory was the 23rd in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-1.
St. Joseph will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nipomo has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. San Ramon Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
