Having just played yesterday, the Montgomery Red Raiders will get right back to it and host Meadowbrook Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Montgomery had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 49-37 win over Midd-West on Thursday. Montgomery's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook Christian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past Milton 42-39. Given Meadowbrook Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Milton is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kailey Devlin, who scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Meadowbrook Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Alayna Smith, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Meadowbrook Christian, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Montgomery beat Meadowbrook Christian 32-25 in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. Will Montgomery repeat their success, or does Meadowbrook Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
