The Palisade Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Fruita Monument Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palisade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Palisade had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Eagle Valley on Monday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 17-11 margin over the Devils. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chloe Cummings was excellent, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamyson Mancuso, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Palisade lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Fruita Monument ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Montrose by a score of 5-1.
Teagan Clements spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Fruita Monument saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Stephens, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Addison Hopper was another, going 1-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.
Palisade's record is now 12-6. As for Fruita Monument, their record now sits at 14-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Palisade has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Fruita Monument struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palisade might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Fruita Monument in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
