Fillmore is 0-8 against Grace since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Flashes will square off against the Lancers at 3:00 p.m.
Fillmore is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Trinity Classical Academy by a score of 6-5 on Saturday.
Johan Reyes made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Anthony Cabral was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grace, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Windward 11-0 on Monday. With that win, the Lancers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Kade Monica was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Monica was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Makai Saiki was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Dylan Ferguson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Grace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Grace's record is now 3-1. As for Fillmore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Fillmore couldn't quite finish off Grace in their previous matchup on Wednesday and fell 5-3. Can the Flashes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
