Palmyra is 1-9 against Cedar Cliff since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Palmyra Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Cedar Cliff Colts at 7:00 p.m. Palmyra is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Palmyra beat Milton Hershey 50-44. Given Palmyra's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Milton Hershey is ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palmyra found their leader in underclassman Addison Salus, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Salus hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Keely Bowers, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Cedar Cliff posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Mifflin County out 42-40.
Palmyra's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Cedar Cliff, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Palmyra was able to grind out a solid victory over Cedar Cliff in their previous matchup on January 3rd, winning 28-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmyra since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
