The 2025 high school volleyball season is complete with state champions crowned across the country.
Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, Texas) is the MaxPreps National Champion and
Sophee Peterson of the Bobcats is the MaxPreps National Player of the Year.
The postseason honors continue with the unveiling of the MaxPreps All-America Team.
The 60-player team includes hitters, middles, setters and liberos who led their squads to success this season. Many of the All-Americans are state champions, some put up eye-popping statistical numbers. Most are headed to marquee college programs.

FIRST TEAM
Outside hitters
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2026) | San Diego State
The Dragons grabbed the Conference 6A Division 2 title as Austin paced them with a team-high 468 kills. She also tallied 644 serve receptions and 468 digs as Southlake Carroll went 35-5 and finished No. 11 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.
Gentry Barker, Lake Travis (Austin, Texas)5-11 | Junior (Class of 2027) | San Diego State
Tallied 572 kills in her first season with the 34-12 Cavaliers and reached 1,500 career kills. She had a high of 24 kills in an October match and 382 digs for the year.
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Northwestern
Dropped a team-high 365 kills as the Sailors went 38-7 and finished No. 14 in the nation. She had double-digit kills in 15 matches and had 382 serve receptions, 194 digs and 71 aces.
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Kentucky
Helped the Hawks to a Class 6A title while dropping 547 kills on the season. The future Wildcat had 34 kills in a semifinal win over Madison and followed it with 27 in the title game. She had 342 serve receptions along with 224 digs.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Mississippi State
Helped the Redwings to a second straight Class 4A title with 239 kills and 96 blocks. She was named the state final Player of the Game and earned All-State honors as well as Marist went 36-5 with a No. 7 final ranking.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Minnesota
The six-rotation player was as good in the back row as she was at finding the floor on kills for the Monarchs. She had 486 kills hitting at 35 percent along with 225 digs and 39 aces as Mitty went 33-4 and was ranked for much of the season.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Wisconsin
Against one of the toughest schedules in the country, she tallied 304 kills, 270 server receptions and 134 digs as the Mustangs were 24-11 and were ranked in the MaxPreps Top 25 for much of the season.
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Washington
Part of Byron Nelson's Big Three, she had 519 kills (4.8 per set) with 510 serve receptions, 388 digs, 49 blocks and 34 aces as her squad went 42-0 and was crowned MaxPreps National Champion for the second straight season.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Penn State
One of the best pure hitters in the game, the future Nittany Lion showed off an all-around game for he 38-5 Falcons this season. She had 516 serve receptions, 328 kills, 251 digs 56 aces and 30 blocks as Torrey Pines landed at No. 9 in the final rankings.
6-1 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Minnesota
Helped the Gators to back-to-back Class 6A titles with 419 kills as Xavier College Prep went 35-2 and finished No. 4 in the final MaxPreps Top 25. She added 433 serve receptions, 281 digs and 71 blocks this year.
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2027) | UCLA
She provided a lethal 1-2 punch with fellow MaxPreps All-American Layli Ostovar for the Monarchs. Matavao had 409 serve receptions, 394 kills, 177 digs, 37 aces and 32 blocks as Mater Dei won the Open Division title and finished No. 2 in the rankings.
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted
Led the a loaded Trailblazer lineup with 464 kills (3.6 per set). She had 461 serve receptions, 265 digs, 29 blocks and 28 aces as Sierra Canyon finished 41-4 and No. 3 in the country.
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2026) | USC
She had 313
kills 306 serve receptions, 212 digs and 24 aces and turned up her game in the playoffs. She had 14 kills in a SoCal final win over Sierra Canyon and
backed it up with 15 in the Open Division championship for the 35-5 Monarchs.
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Rice
Led the Bobcats in kills with 523 (5.0 per set) as they won the Conference 6A Division 1 title, their second straight state crown. She also had 454 serve receptions, 351 digs and 53 aces.
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Indiana at Indianapolis
Led the Chargers (37-0) to their second straight Class 4A title over the
weekend. Ended the season with 557 kills while
hitting. 421. She tallied 336 serve receptions, 219 digs, 62 aces and 47
blocks as Carroll dropped four sets all year.
6-5 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Wisconsin
An opposing figure at the net, she helped
the Redwings (39-3) to the Class 4A final for the fourth straight season.
She tallied 227 kills while hitting. 430 and added 40 blocks in a state
that only plays best-of-three sets.
5-8 | Sophmore (Class of 2028) | Uncommitted
An all-around threat for the No. 11 team in the country, she dished up 524 assists and added 206 kills along with 194 digs. At the Durango Fall Classic, she had 74 assists and 36 kills over six matches against some of the best competition in the nation.
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted
The daughter of former NFL player Will Witherspoon led the Lancers to a Class 5 state title with 636 kills while hitting 40 percent. She had 398 serve receptions, 274 digs 98 blocks and 94 aces as Lafayette went 40-1.
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2026) | South Dakota
The Tigers grabbed a fourth straight Class AA title as the South
Dakota commit dropped 523 kills on the season, including 14 in the final
sweep of O'Gorman. A repeat MaxPreps All-American, she finished her career
with 1,802 kills.
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Cal
The Sea Hawks beat seven ranked during the season and the future Golden Bear was a driving force behind the offense. She tallied 631 kills (6.5 per set) along with 85 blocks and 70 aces.
Setters
5-10 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Nebraska
She dished up 1,220 assists (12.0 per set) as the Titans went 36-1 with a
second straight Class B title. She had a
bounce-back season after missing her sophomore season with an injury.
In the final, she had 48 assists.
5-8 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted
With a team that featured four hitters with more than 280 kills, Fasavlau distributed the ball adeptly all season. She ended with 1,001 assists (8.3 per set) and added 239 digs with a team-high 66 aces.
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Cal
Led the team with 704 assists while also posting a team-high 293 kills. For good measure, she also tallied 359 digs, 72 aces and 39 blocks.
MAXPREPS NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
5-10 | Junior (Class of 2027) | Texas A&M
The catalyst of the two-time Texas champion, she had 1,459 assists along with 27 digs and 161 kills. With one year remaining, she already has 3,660 assists.
6-2 | Sophomore (Class of 2028) | Uncommitted
The National Freshman of the Year a season ago, she backed it up with 1,050 assists in 2025 as the Tigers won a fourth straight state title and finished No. 10 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.
Liberos
5-6 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Maryland
The MVP of the state final, she finished the season with 401 digs, 125 assists and 38 aces. The future Terrapin also earned all-conference and all-state accolades.
5-6 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Rutgers
The Class A Player of the Year helped the Titans to a 31-9 mark capped with the state title as she tallied 548 digs and 424 serve receptions.
5-5 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Auburn
One of the best defenders in the game, she anchored a back row that helped the Rockets win their 25th state title. She posted 445 digs Assumption went 40-4 and finished No. 6 nationally.
5-7 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Oregon
The anchor of a defense that won a second Open Division title in three seasons. On the year, the future Duck had 524 serve receptions and 398 digs, playing in all but six sets.
5-6 | Senior (Class of 2026) | Arizona
The Scots won their first state title as the future Wildcat was at the heart of their defense. She tallied 744 digs as Highland Park went 43-8 and finished No. 13 in the nation.
