The Hershey Panthers suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-34 loss at the hands of Bridgeport. Hershey has struggled against Bridgeport recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Demi DaMoude, who scored five points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Haily Miller, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Olivia Loomis-goltl was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Bridgeport. Loomis-goltl is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Dean, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Hershey's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Bridgeport, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hershey on the road again on Saturday and play against Chase County at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Chase County is ranked 120th, while Hershey is ranked 96th). As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to face off against Bayard at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bayard is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
