Redlands Adventist Academy came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Desert Chapel Eagles 17-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-3 last Tuesday.

Ryan Powers and Drew Lauer made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Powers pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lauer pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Powers scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Lauer scored a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Andrew Karpenko and Carter Kerstetter did most of the damage at the plate: Karpenko scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Kerstetter scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Kerstetter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Lauer, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Redlands Adventist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Redlands Adventist Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
