The Hug Hawks had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against South Tahoe by a score of 69-57 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hug to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Koul, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds. Koul is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Bol Makur was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Hug's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for South Tahoe, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-9.
Hug will square off against Sparks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Sparks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for South Tahoe, they will look to defend their home court on Sunday against Truckee at 6:30 p.m. Truckee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
