The South Spartans lost against the Rosamond Roadrunners back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Year welcomed South with a 47-2 whooping from Rosamond. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rosamond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ariel Cain, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Cain's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Williams, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for South and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Rosamond, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
South's road trip will continue as they head out to face Quartz Hill at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Quartz Hill is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Rosamond and Eastside will face off at 3:30 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eastside is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
