The Freeport Yellowjackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over Riverview. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Freeport as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Despite the defeat, Riverview saw an underclassman step up: Isabel Chaparro scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Juliette Brun, who scored three points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Freeport's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Riverview, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Freeport will be playing in front of their home fans against Derry at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverview, they will head out on the road to face off against Jeannette at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Adriana Allison and Lola Abraham.
