The Highland Tech Rams's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 64-55 victory over Thomas Jefferson. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Elijah Sherrill was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Highland Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Whitted, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Thomas Jefferson, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Tech will take on Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will be playing at home against Burns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Burns' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
