Germantown Friends are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th. Hopefully Germantown Friends is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Merion Mercy Academy in Pennsylvania (Germantown Friends is ranked 209th, while Merion Mercy Academy is ranked 518th).
Germantown Friends scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Girard College 65-8 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-4.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Merion Mercy Academy beat Pope John Paul II 42-37 on Thursday. The victory was just what Merion Mercy Academy needed coming off of a 52-17 loss in their prior game.
Germantown Friends' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Merion Mercy Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.
