Leading Winnebago to victory were Jolon Blackbird and Tressa BigBear. Blackbird scored 15 points along with two steals and two blocks, while BigBear scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. BigBear is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Charlize Frenchman was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Winnebago's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Creighton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Winnebago will square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Homer is ranked 197th, while the Indians are ranked 177th). As for Creighton, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. O'Neill is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
