Foothill hasn't had much luck against Chico recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Foothill sitting on five straight victories and Chico on seven.
Foothill's tournament run continued when they took on Morro Bay on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Pirates 64-38. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Foothill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Hart led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Hart has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaymes Arnold, who went 7-for-13 en route to 18 points.
Foothill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 26 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Chico was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past West Valley 56-14. The Panthers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.
Foothill better focus on containing Kayleigh Solano and Charlie Bishop as the pair were huge in Chico's win. Solano almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Bishop posted ten points along with seven assists and five steals. Corrina Stephens was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.
Foothill's record now sits at 11-2. As for Chico, their record is now 14-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Foothill has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chico struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 36.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Foothill came up short against Chico in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, falling 67-58. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
