Crockett won the last time they faced Elgin and Lauren Smith did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 55-43 on Thursday for which the team can thank Smith, who went 12-for-26 on her way to 29 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. Her morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Smith, who posted six points along with six rebounds and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Crockett's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Elgin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Crockett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-41 victory against Smithville on the 11th. As for Elgin, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-36 win against Rockdale on the 11th.
