After four games on the road, Hanover is heading back home. They will take on the York County Tech Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Hanover took a serious blow against Delone Catholic, falling 58-21. While losing is never fun, Hanover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 536th, while Delone Catholic is ranked 16th).
York County Tech suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 69-47 defeat at the hands of Millersburg.
York County Tech's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Le'Icessess Harrison, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Anna Foster who scored 17 points. That was a full 34% of York County Tech's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hanover bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for York County Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Hanover came up short against York County Tech in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 43-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of York County Tech's Meaza Hower, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
