After losing to the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets the last time they met, the Sutherland Knights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Sutherland walked away with a 56-46 victory over Rush-Henrietta on Friday.
Several Royal Comets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jalen Taggart, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The game was Taggart's third in a row with at least ten points. Myles Collins-Howard was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Even though they lost, Rush-Henrietta were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory got Sutherland back to even at 1-1. As for Rush-Henrietta, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.
Sutherland will take on Brockport at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brockport is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Rush-Henrietta, they will head out on the road to face off against Penfield at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Penfield and Rush-Henrietta are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
