Basketball Recap: Fall River Piles Up the Points Against Central Valley

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fall River's strategy against Central Valley on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Fall River Bulldogs blew the Central Valley Falcons out of the water with a 70-30 final score. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 57-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had no chance of recovering from.

Fall River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mylah Darnell out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. Darnell is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Allison Osborne, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Fall River now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Fall River and Shasta will meet in a canine-themed contest at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shasta will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fall River surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-30 win against CORE Butte on the 10th.
