In what's become a running theme this season, the Escalon Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Livingston 45-23. The win was nothing new for Escalon as they're now sitting on three straight.
Sammy Lang continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. Lang is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Chloe Farley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Escalon's win bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Livingston, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escalon and the Huskies will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hughson is on a five-game streak of home wins, the Cougars a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Livingston, they will head out on the road to challenge the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Hilmar and three for the Wolves.
