Even though the Winters Warriors have not done well against the Pierce Bears recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Winters snuck past the Bears with a 45-39 win. Winning may never get old, but Winters sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jordan Tucker was a one-man wrecking crew for Winters as she scored 25 points. Tucker is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Maci Dodic, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Pierce saw an underclassman step up: Jaslene Condrey scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Leah Charter, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Winters' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Pierce, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winters will square off against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paradise has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Pierce, they will head out on the road to square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
