Chambers/Wheeler Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. Edward Beavers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chambers/Wheeler Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Chambers/Wheeler Central suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Niobrara/Verdigre, falling 57-24. While losing is never fun, Chambers/Wheeler Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Niobrara/Verdigre is ranked 68th).
Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ella Moses, who scored nine points, and Annabel Waldo who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to St. Edward, who are still winless after their 12th match. They were outmatched by Heartland Lutheran on the road and fell 61-10. St. Edward was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-5.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Edward struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Heartland Lutheran posted 20 assists.
Chambers/Wheeler Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for St. Edward, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-12.
Everything went Chambers/Wheeler Central's way against St. Edward in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Chambers/Wheeler Central made off with a 40-19 win.
