King/Drew and Harbor Teacher are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Golden Eagles will face off against the Monarchs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, King/Drew made easy work of Locke and carried off a 25-4 victory. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Sammy Ventura and Oscar Reyes did most of the damage at the plate: Ventura went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base, while Reyes went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those five hits gave Ventura a new career-high. Arturo Rivas was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
King/Drew always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Harbor Teacher entered their tilt with Dorsey on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 25-15 victory. The Monarchs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Michael Nevarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Harbor Teacher: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Kameron Swordin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
King/Drew's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Harbor Teacher, their record is now 10-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. King/Drew hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Harbor Teacher struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
King/Drew beat Harbor Teacher 11-7 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
