Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Marlborough Mustangs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Olympians by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leuzinger got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Watts out in front who scored 29 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Watts hasn't dropped below 23 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dresha Moore, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Marlborough's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Leuzinger, they pushed their record up to 25-4 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.
Marlborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leuzinger also has no future games currently scheduled.
