The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against California as Chartiers-Houston made off with a 65-44 victory. Chartiers-Houston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Chartiers-Houston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Richey out in front who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Richey scored 15 or more points. Mia Mitrik was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
The victory (which was Chartiers-Houston's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for California, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chartiers-Houston will take on Bethlehem Center at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. California on the road again on Saturday and play against Clairton at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th. Clairton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
