Even though The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls scored an imposing 35 points on Friday, the Land O' Lakes Gators still came out on top. Land O' Lakes came out on top in a nail-biter against Wiregrass Ranch and snuck past 37-35. The win made it back-to-back wins for Land O' Lakes.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Land O' Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Horvath, who threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt. Xavier Clemente was another key contributor, picking up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Loss or not, Wiregrass Ranch got some senior leadership from Fred Adams who picked up 148 receiving yards and four touchdowns and Luke Knight who threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Adams' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Riggins, who picked up 158 receiving yards.
Land O' Lakes' win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Land O' Lakes will head out on the road to face off against Pasco at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Villages Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Villages Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Wiregrass Ranch is ranked 141st).
