The Adelanto Saints had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-23 win over Vasquez on the road. That 55-23 margin sets a new team best for Adelanto this season.
Leading Adelanto to victory were Nina Lacy and Sara Aguayo. Lacy scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Aguayo scored 15 points along with four steals. Lacy hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of nyomi sanchez, who scored six points along with four steals.
Adelanto is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Vasquez, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adelanto will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Barstow at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Barstow will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 874th, while Adelanto is ranked 405th). As for Vasquez, they will head out on the road to face off against Desert Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
