The win was all the more spectacular given Williams Valley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Millersburg is ranked 136th).
Millersburg lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emma Miller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jana Strait, who scored six points along with eight assists and six steals.
Williams Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Millersburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.
Williams Valley will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Upper Dauphin Area at 5:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Hopefully Upper Dauphin Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
