The Swett Warriors will take on the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Swett extended their winning streak to four on Friday. Everything went the Warriors' way against Bethel as they made off with a 12-1 victory.
Adan Miranda made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Ayden Holleran was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. James Gibson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Swett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.8.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent made easy work of Richmond on Friday and carried off a 16-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won nine in a row.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent got a massive performance out of Vincent Cary, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Dominic Petersen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Swett, their win bumped their record up to 9-4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Swett has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Patrick-St. Vincent struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Swett came up short against St. Patrick-St. Vincent in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 9-5. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
