Richmond is a perfect 6-0 against Carrabec since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bobcats will welcome the Cobras at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Richmond has eight straight victories, Carrabec has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Richmond got the win against Vinalhaven by a conclusive 11-1. Fans of the Bobcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Cody Fournier made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gavin Lincoln was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sully McDaniel, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Buckfield hit Carrabec with a seven-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cobras took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucks.
Colton Scheve was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. Austin Sales was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Carrabec's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
Carrabec's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Richmond hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Carrabec, though, as they've only averaged .169. Will they be able to contain Richmond's hitters?
Everything went Richmond's way against Carrabec in their previous meeting back in June of 2025, as Richmond made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cobras turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
