The Farrell Steelers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Kennedy Catholic 79-28. Farrell lost against Kennedy Catholic in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 87-29 score last time.
It was another big night for Layke Fields, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds for Kennedy Catholic. That makes it five consecutive games in which Fields has scored at least 25% of Kennedy Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Monique Vincent, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Farrell bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Kennedy Catholic, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Farrell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brashear on December 29th. Kennedy Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Blackhawk at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
