The Technology Titans will take on the Sonoma Academy Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Technology is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Tomales on Friday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves.
Leo McDonell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Sonoma Academy came out on top against Willits on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Coyotes walked away with an 8-4 win over the Wolverines. The victory continues a trend for the Coyotes in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.
Victor Jennings made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Jennings was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Proctor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Sonoma Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Mutz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Sonoma Academy pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Technology, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Technology has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sonoma Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Technology suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Sonoma Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
