Animas has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mesilla Valley Christian School took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Animas, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Animas didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Eagles, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win.
Sofia Martinez was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Mesilla Valley Christian School's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Reserve. Mesilla Valley Christian School has not had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Animas' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Animas strolled past the SonBlazers in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 47-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Animas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
