Basketball Recap: Campbell Hall's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Campbell Hall unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Imperial Tigers.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlotte Crosley, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 21 points. Crosley's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Campbell Hall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Imperial was led to victory by Elynna Jimenez and Nayeli Cardona. Jimenez almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards, while Cardona posted 25 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Jimenez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Clarissa Davila, who put up three points in addition to six assists, six steals, and five boards.

Campbell Hall's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Imperial, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Campbell Hall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-51 defeat against St. Margaret's on the 27th. As for Imperial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-20 victory against Xavier Prep on the 27th.
