Baseball Recap: Branham Finds Home Field Redemption Against Leigh

There's no place like home for Branham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Leigh Longhorns 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bruins have posted since April 18th.

Luka Knezevic made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Branham is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 9-10 otherwise. Knezevic was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Ryan Field was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Branham is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise.

Branham's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Leigh, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Branham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leigh, they have already played their next game, a 10-1 win against Scotts Valley on the 17th.
