After flying high against Taylor on Wednesday, New Richmond came back down to earth. The Lions lost 9-1 to the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs on Saturday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

New Richmond saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter McCurdy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

New Richmond's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

New Richmond didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Indian Hill on the 28th. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Piketon on the 27th.
